Wolverine sketch cover megathread!

Just tried out the new Wolverine sketch covers and unfortunately the covers are kinds slick like the Avengers second print. Not as bad as the Image United covers but they still suck to color on.

I'm bummed cause I was ready to bust out some cool color covers.

Yup--- wish they would have used the same covers that they used for Avengers, New Avengers and X-Men. The Wolverine is like the second print Avengers one--- crappy. Glad that the hundred or so I have to do for Dynamic Forces only need to be black and white!

Thanks for the heads up. Was going to add heavy Copics to the Wolverine but I think I may just add a few highlights.

 

The 2nd Print Avengers I went in with the mistake of not testing it first and it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped.

How is the Zero Hour DC Cover or the Astonishing XMen cover ?

The zero hour is even glossier so it doesn't take colors but takes black ink great. Which Astonishing X-Men cover do they use for sketches?

Both are glossy and do not take color well. Best to use with black sharpie for sketching/inking.

I found that out at Wizard Chicago when Chris Burham tried to color on it.... thats why I figured the black white version with a marker sketch would work instead of the colored wolverinne :sketch:

Yes it will.But you have to know how.

Tedious proces of coloring before penciling,Then using India ink from a bottle with quill,then using a Blender to even out the colors. Not worth the time really but at least you CAN color it.
