Robert Kirkman of the WALKING DEAD makes a rare convention appearance as he headlines the Amazing Arizona Comic Con.

 

The show takes place January 8th and 9th, 2011 at the mesa Convention Center, just outside of Phoenix.

 

In addition to Robert Kirkman, the guest list includes:

*Rob Liefeld- Deadpool creator

*Jeph Loeb- Marvel Vice President Writer of Red Hulk and Avengers

*Mike Choi- artist of X-Men Second Coming & Astonishing Thor

*Victor Gischler- writer of new monthly X-Men and Deadpool MWM, and DPC

*John Layman- Eisner & Harvey Award winning creator of CHEW

*Ryan Ottley- artist of Invincible & Haunt

*Corey Walker- artist of Invincible

I just got in the physical TICKETS to the Amazing Arizona Comic Con.

They have Walking Dead and Deadpool artwork.

They will be available for sale at your favorite Arizona comic store as soon as next wednesday.

 

Registration should be open at that time online as well.

Nightcrawler- looking at the twitter and CAF pics of Ottley's commissions- they really blow me away too...

 

As for grading & verification-

CGC has an open invitation to come out to the show, and has been contacted since early in the year. We've had interest in some affiliated companies, and other grading services as well...

 

There's a few things that are developing.

R- better keep emailing CGC to get them to the Amazing Arizona Comic Con. CGC has had multiple offers to come out to the event. Many of their employees have expressed interest in getting their personal books slabbed there. I think with the stellar guest list, they SHOULD have a large number of Signature Series submissions, Sketch covers, and more. Several 3rd parties have exprressed interest in coming out and handling the SS though.

 

More news coming soon though.

 

I will also be updating the list of dealers at the Amazing Arizona Comic Con. The Big Name Gold/Silver/Bronze crowd will be there, and a number of the high profile NEW/Modern Dealers as well.

Spider- the show we are putting together is definitely centered around comic books, and the creators themselves. From Kirkman to Liefeld to Loeb, to Image Comics/Aspen/Zenescope, and more. the dealers room should have a nice competitive mix of Gold/Silver/Bronze, lots of Modern, graphic novels, Toys and more.

 

We're trying to take everything we gathered as retailers, exhibitors, publishers, exclusive book vendors, consultants and more- taking the next logical step into convention promoting.

 

Hopefully you'll dig the event we have planned!
