Yup it is,.....I miss the 80's...I got in and out of a pyramid twice...12k payoff both times for 1500.00 down...it was such a hoot going to those meetings,..watching the co-pilots (mine went captain, 2 co-pilots, 4 navigators, 8 stewards and 16 passengers) make up all sorts of stories to entice the newbies...

gotta love it... I was invited a few years back into one. It was "Amway online" aka Quikstar... anyway, we got invited to a meeting and as we were starting off a new life in VA and looking to make extra bread for a wedding, etc... once we saw the home of the "captain" or group leader who had been supposedly "retired", we were not impressed with the lack of furnishings and Amway everything... had a laugh and walked out... fokkers hit me up while I was in Walmart and were then trying to talk me into doingthe same to others at Barnes and noble or other stores where similar classes of gullible newbies would frequent...

What was surprising was that the guy never once said the word "Amway".

In his "literature" it says Amway, but he never mentioned it.

You've gotta wonder about a "business" whose recruiters never say

what they're recruiting for.

 

My wife will probably disagree, but after seeing it "in person", it's hard to think

of Mary Kay (etc.) as much more than a pyramid scheme...

 

I guess if you're a Mary Kay customer, you just get your product and don't care.

But if you're an "independent beauty consultant" retailing Mary Kay products...

you're probably not high enough on the totem pole to enjoy those pyramid benefits.

...and I wouldn't exactly call "breaking even" a profitable way to work part-time.
