Barbarella album - Can this be slabbed?

8 posts in this topic

I recently aquired a nice 6.0'ish copy of a very rare and relatively expensive Norwegian print of Barbarella, from 1968 - the album the cult movie starring Jane Fonda was based on. The Norwegian reprint is dated 1969, and its an early version of the more established "european album" format, with paperback covers and glued spine. Its exactly 00.6cm thick, 21.5cm wide and 27.4cm tall.

I think it would look stunning in a slab, altho I'm hesistant about sending it all the way from Norway, and it would be a bummer if the format or the size is rejected. I'm mostly worried about the thickness here, and the not so common format. Unfortunately I do not have a working scanner atm, but the picture below is from the actual sample nontheless.

You think this one would have a shot at getting slabbed or too big a risk of having it returned raw?

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Perhaps I wasnt too clear about that part, but it IS a comic, just in somewhat uncommon wrapping / format for the US marked. Its a quite "common" but expensive format over here, altho it mighta been more prominent during the seventies and eighties than nowadays.

Sorta like a wide version of a regular TPB I guess? (shrug) Just found a slabbed coloring book on the bay, and this reminds alot of that format so theres some newfound hope of success.

I don't speak Norwegian... :frustrated:

8,6" x 10,96"

1" = 2.5cm

I had a "writers guide" that was about the exact same size. Althougth the plastic spine prevented grading, the size was not an issue. I'd guess that this could be graded. I'd post in the "Ask CGC" thread just to make sure before sending. (Thumbs u
