ABC Planning Live Action Incredible Hulk Series

Source: Deadline, Heat Vision October 14, 2010

ABC is currently developing a live-action television series based on The Incredible Hulk, reports Deadline.

The character of the Hulk and his alter-ego, Bruce Banner, first appeared in 1962's The Incredible Hulk #1. A scientist, Banner's accidental exposure to Gamma rays causes him to becoming an uncontrollable, rampaging beast whenever he is enraged.

Outside of comics, The Incredible Hulk is perhaps best known as a CBS series that ran from 1978 to 1982, starring Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno. More recently, the character has spawned two films, 2003's Hulk (starring Eric Bana) and 2008's The Incredible Hulk (starring Edward Norton). Mark Ruffalo is attached to take over the role for 2012's The Avengers.

Although there is some planned continuity between the latter two films, it is unknown whether or not that plan will carry over for the ABC series, which is currently seeking writers.

UPDATE: Heat Vision is reporting that Marvel is also looking at developing the characters of Cloak and Dagger for the small screen.

Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen are, respectively, the duo, who first appeared in 1982's The Spectacular Spider-Man #64. Both runaway teens, Cloak and Dagger become the victims of a criminal heroin dealer whose experimentations awaken latent mutant abilities. Cloak's powers allow him to engulf criminals in a world of darkness within himself while Dagger has the ability to create and manipulate daggers of light.

The article notes that Cloak and Dagger could be a candidate for ABC Family. While there is, again, not necessarily a continuity planned between film and television, the characters of Cloak and Dagger made a popular appearance in the original arc of Runaways, which is heading into production as a feature adaptation soon.

I was wondering, why are there so many issues of Cloak & Dagger out there?

I used to have dozens of quarter boxes filled with Cloak & Dagger, Hawke &Dove, all those New Universe titles and others. I would have long boxes of issues bundled in the back room because there were too many of them out in the quarter boxes.

And what is up with that circle around Tandy's eye?

I know it is probably somewhere on the net but I'm too lazy to look..lol besides someone here will know!!

For some odd reason, marvel keeps pushing them. I don't know why. Maybe in the hopes that they will finally catch on. :eyeroll:

Never understood it myself, but I guess if the TV show is a hit, then they will have accomplished their goal.

Still, a TV show for Cloak & Dagger? wtf?
