Amazing Spider-man run #301-324 solid. All CGC. Just got them back today!

42 posts in this topic

It looks like keeping these for 15 years paid off. I bought each one of these off the rack when they came out. Back in the late 80's I was trying to complete a full Spider-man set, including every x-over and appearance he ever made in a comic. I always searched for the best copy. Once I got them home I looked through them once and then placed them in brand new mylars and sealed the tops shut with tape. I placed them in my box where they sat for well over a decade. When I decided to sell them in January I sent them into CGC, still mylared and still sealed, even after 15 years! The only surprise was the ASM #321 which is now the lowest CGC graded copy! 27_laughing.gif Since I did not open up the mylars before I sent them off I did not notice the #321 had a printers "wave" going through the book. No crease, just a bend. The book looks NM+ otherwise!

I am looking to sell this as a set but will break them up if I get enough offers for smaller sets. First come first serve! The ASM #347 listed here I also bought new and kept that one as it is a classic cover IMO. If no one has interest here they will go up on ebay at a later date, but I wanted to give my fellow forum members first shot on them. PM me with offers or questions. I'll post some scans soon. Thank guys! Here is the list:

Could you post a big scan of just one of the 9.8s?

I've got a small handful of ASMs in the 300s that I think might be 9.8s but I'd like to see what a real McCoy looks like before I send in a Modern lot.

Looks like some nice books. I have sold quite a few of these same ASM issues and they did not go for quite what I thought they would. My one surprise was $175 for a 9.8 ow/w #315 but the other 9.8s went for around $50-55. I believe 312, 316 and 317 would go for more though in 9.8 and certainly 301 WAY more in 9.8. The 9.6s usually fetch around $30-35 and the 9.4s around $25. 9.2 and under you may break even with the CGC fee. There are actually quite a few of these to be had, and just a couple dollars each for supposedly NM/M raw copies on Ebay.

That's about what I pegged them at. Looking to get, grade by grade...

9.8's $60 (except #314, $70)

9.6's $40 (except #306 & 312, $50)

9.4's $30 (except #309 $40)

9.2's $20 (except #301 $70)

6.5's $15 27_laughing.gif

What happened with the 6.5?

I wrote about that in my original listing.

At the prices listed in the above post the set (with the #347) comes out to $1085. Anyone who wants to make a serious offer for the set can PM me.

I'd rather buy a nice Golden Age book off of you for that kind of money. wink.gif

Timely, I'd recommend you list the 9.8's on EBay, as I doubt anyone on here is prepared to pay "Mad Speculator Money" for Moderns. But as you know, they are rampant on The Bay.

Then amybe try and package the 9.6's and 9.4's to various forum members.

Just an idea, but the 9.8's are far better suited to the Wild Wild West of EBay.

I think he typed the wrong number.

Yep, it seems that the only McFarlane ASM issues that are selling have to be 9.8's (up to around #316 or so). I've seen plenty of 9.6's go unsold for $25 and some 9.4's not get a bite at $12-$15.

Look at these 9.8's, not even a bite at $39!
