1st time Albert Moy's OA set up in Seattle with beautiful Enrich Vampi cover painting, etc:

Surprised to see a dealer mainly selling lithos that also had framed Neal Adams OA from a recent DC series plus drawing:

I stayed at the 6th Ave Inn which was barely 3 stars. At least I saved enough $ to afford a $20 lapdance right behind the hotel:

Writer/artist Frank Cho recommended Charlene from that joint to satisfy my non-comic book needs. All convention hotels were downtown so walking distance to other fine establishments for evening entertainment:

Recently refurbished sign at Pike Place where GA Collectibles and other vintage used bookshops are located:

My buddy visits every Hard Rock when on vacation:

Back at Emerald, the Fri. was well attended and the aisles were not jammed like 2010's Sat. crazy crowd. Saw a scarce Iron Man 2 movie poster:

Bought a set of 3rd Eye Marvel postcards from Bud Plant, and UG's were also represented:

I drove south to Tacoma, WA to visit the inside of Museum of Glass for the 1st time:

The furnace was up to 2,500 Fahrenheit for live glass blowing:

To be honest, I had more fun in 2010 visiting the Boeing Aviation Museum outside of Seattle, WA. A sample of glass sculpture with delicate art imbedded:

Yes, I did buy some comics. I collect almost every genre. Got my 1st Cupples Leon Jan, 1919 book and great history of UG's book. This was the expanded 2nd printing! John Hauser just got in a nice run of Dennis the Menace so I added to my collection:

Scooped up a published Dynamite John Carter Warlord of Mars #6 variant OA cover at a bargain price with a heaving Dejah Thoris in foreground and Barsoomian in background. Sadowski also had published Dynamite Last Phantom OA covers that I was drooling over:

On Sat., I visited Comics Dungeon but they were mostly closed as they were filming some sort of comic bk web or podcast inside their shop:

So visited another friendly comic, toy and gaming shop for the 1st time instead:

Retailer "I Like Comics" from Vancouver, WA (not Vancouver, Canada) had a nice display with AF 15 3.5 and plod 9.0. Most of his comics were Pgx graded, as they live across the border from Oregon where Pgx is based. Think they also had a raw Capt America #2.

Driving back to Canada Sat., dinner was at my fave hangout: Tulalip Casino buffet for $20. They added new items like General Tso's spicy and sweet chicken stir fry plus had an amazing sweet sauce on Swedish meat balls. Actually had 2 portions of my fave prime rib:

Could not believe that they added 20% more items to their already large dessert and pie bar. Casino now offers non-sugar cakes and pastries but I was too full to try them after the excellent finely  diced walnut cake with tangy blue berry sauce. I will be back to Emerald for sure in 2012. Great vintage comics, food and forumites. :golfclap:

Saw Borock briefly as he was running around buying. Even the Star Trek panel with Wesley Crusher actor was good, as he threw in a few jokes.

SenorMac,

I did not take that many dealer room shots of the usual suspects: Harley, A-1 Comics, big dealer from Chicago, Terry Nationwide Comics, Albert Moy, Heroes warehouse and Super Con promoter from CA, etc. LCS's had plenty of decent $1 and $2 fodder like Wendy, Casper, Wonder Woman, Dennis Menace, Marvel Tales reprints.

There will be more costumes on the Sat. and Sun. for ppl who want shots of a skimpy Poison Ivy, etc.

What was under promoted was the OA auction which had some stellar cover art and splash pages by good quality artists like that UK artist who's name I forgot (he draws Rusty the Robot). Most fans were too tired and hungry by the time they exited the con to walk around the silent (written bid) auction room.

ALLAN!!!

I never knew you frequented these spots.. heck, I would have been right beside you!!! :sumo:

All kidding aside, it was good to see you! After you left the booth, I found 3 books that fit into your collecting goal/area of expertise... More Funs.

We (Van City area) should have a little "swap meet" of sorts once every other month to BS and have dinner!!! I don't have many comic friends. Most of my friends are too busy working on their bikes and in the pubs! I rarely partake, so I'd really enjoy seeing more of "my kind" a little more often.

I had proposed it before, but it never got anywhere. I guess it'll be the same this time!

Great to see you!

John :hi:

Frank Cho has been here since I started attending the last three years. Nice guy. Forgot to mention neither Cho or Mignola would do sketches, which was too bad. Frank will do a quick sketch but nothin involved. Adam Hughes was booked with like 50 drawings to do by the time I got to his table. I picked up a signed copy of Cho's latest sketch book.

Got an autograph from Mike. He seemed like a really nice guy. That's his wife hiding on the left. Sorry about the focus, looks like it focused on the poster. :)

I asked em for a free sketch on sunday when no one else was around at all... no such luck ah well! I'd have other wise just paid the fee but was tapped out highly this year due to the high media guest prices :o(shrug)

I did get a sweet sketch from guy though :D though so he gets all my love :luhv:
