Title:

VA Comicon breaks records! Delivers unprecedented attendee to vendor

ratio of 50 to 1!

Body:

As the VA Comicon moves into our 25th year, we wanted to thank all of

the fans who came to the VA Comicon this past weekend (Nov 20-21)!

With publishers such as Fangoria, Zenescope, Top Cow, Moonstone and

Eva Ink. fans certainly had a rare chance to learn about upcoming

projects in a smaller more intimate setting.

We exceeded our 2009 attendance by 50%, a show which

Chuck Rozanski beamed "More important than the overall attendance

numbers, however, was the remarkably positive atmosphere that Brett

created throughout the convention... I left Richmond feeling quite

positive about not only the convention, but also the future of comics

collecting as a hobby. It was a great weekend!"

we broke TOTAL 2009 attendance records on Saturday alone this year as Mr. Rozanski described to his newsletter readers the even more successful 2010 VA Comicon as "great fun and extremely

well organized"!

We wanted to also give thanks to Ethan Van Sciver, Michael Golden,

Larry Hama, Arthur Suydam, Michael McKone, Billy Tucci, The Fillbach

Brothers, Joe Jusko, Tsunami Studios, Ebas and the dozens of other top

artists who gave up their weekends to make fans in Richmond, VA very

happy!

And the most exciting part is we were able to achieve an unprecedented

attendee to comic book vendor ratio of 50 to 1 for a regional con! We

have NEVER had so many fans pack a room like this past weekend. Vendor

enthusiasm was strong, and artists reported exceptionally strong sales

in the artists alley.

With attendance up over 50% year over year, show promoter Brett

Carreras still has a few tricks up his sleeve for the 25th Anniversary

show in 2011!

We look forward to having you all back real soon!

Best wishes,

Brett and Guy

:golfclap: That's a great turnout. Maybe I'll make it next year. :wishluck:

Please remember, whatever Wizard offers you. Just say NO!!!!!!!!!

Good morning Taro90!

I actually had the opportunity, and professionally refused their offer...A YEAR AGO!

As a FAN, I actually enjoy Wizard's 3-ring-circus mentality, but as a vendor, and collector of vintage comics, I always wanted to operate a clean, fun, family-friendly COMIC BOOK show.

I only had ONE toy person, and ZERO video games, DVDs, Swords, sound machines, whilrly-gigs, wrestlers, actors, cars, etc...

When the focus is only on comics, it's amazing how centered a show can become!

Take care!
