I only read one email of that thread, but even if it was true, the shiller dropped out some $8000 before the end. It doesn't look like this particular cover was shilled up to it's present price.

Told you it would go higher than 10K

 

It's a nicer cover than the 238, although less important.

 

As to the contention of shill bidding... it didn't happen to any significant extent. The top three bidders are legitimate big-time collectors, and each obviously wanted the cover badly.

 

Personally, I don't think it's worth more than 8-10K, considering what else art-wise you could get for that price.
