ASM #238 w/ Mark Jewelers Insert?

35 posts in this topic

Hi all,

I just got received a small ASM collection today, and included in it was a #238 NT with a Mark Jewelers Insert in it...The question is: Did these inserts really exist this long? The earliest I have before this one is a #189,

Thanks,

Eric

Deathlok,

Thanks for the list...They seem all more of a bronze-age time period...I have about 10-12 ASM's with the MJ insert from #101- 238, but didnt know it was included in such a long range, issue-wise and time-wise,

The issues noted above all came from a gentleman who was in the military and in Germany at the time. The interesting thing is that the Marvel MJ issues appear to turn up much more than the DC or Gold Key examples.

Here are several other examples: X-Men #122 Amazing Spiderman #129 Amazing Spiderman #140, 145, Astonishing Tales #25, Where Monsters Dwell #25, Ghosts #16, Thor #205, Amazing Spider-Man # 121, 122.

This price variant nut does...more passive as I just get them in lots sometimes...I think the price logo variants are rarer, IMO..

Imagine how rare a price variant with a MJ insert must be. flamed.gifThat would be the ultimate for a variant collector.

You left out double cover. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Thanks again everyone,

You can add to that list the following Amazing Spider-Man's:

101

115

131

133

138

153

155

159

160

173

189

Im doing inventory work now, so more may come to light. I have no idea what I have in my personal collection, as I never did "look" for these variants.

Also: Is the Lingerie Insert considered in the same vein? I have several with those as well,

Is there any way you can scan it? I've never seen one or even heard of one for that matter.

Darth bought Lighthouse's double cover 30 cent variant Marvel Feature 4, and I have a double cover 30 cent variant FF 169. No inserts though.

Jim,

Here is an attachment from ASM #117...It is the 4th (last) page if the insert. the middle part is jewelry related, but does not indicate "Mark Jewelers" anywhere. The first page is some type of schooling institute advertisement,
