Special Guest Highlight - Doug Baron

 

The Great Allentown Comic Con! is proud to announce that Doug Baron will be attending the April 16th Show!

 

For the past 14 years Doug Baron has taught at the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning & Graphic Art in Dover, NJ, as well as the Hunterdon Museum of Art and the Somerset Art Association. Doug is also the creator, writer, artist, and publisher of the progressive comic book series Suger Ray Finhead, Little Jim-Bob Big Foot, and The Flying Quasimodo Brothers and in his spare time has worked for a little publishing house called Marvel Comics.

 

Doug will be selling prints, as well as taking commission requests during the show.

Added guest artist – Jim Kyle!

 

The Great Allentown Comic Con! is proud to announce that Jim Kyle will be attending our upcoming April 16th Show!

 

Jim entered the illustration industry at the age of 24, working originally for private clients and galleries until moving into the indie comic and small press field. His first sketch card work was The Complete Avengers for Rittenhouse Archives; Topps soon followed with The Lord of the Rings Masterpieces series.

 

Within the past 3 years, Jim has worked on a number of high profile projects including: Star Wars Clone Wars, Star Wars Galaxy 4, Indiana Jones series for Lucasfilm, The Women of Marvel, The Fantastic Four Archives, Marvel Masterpieces series 1 and 2, Spider-man 3, Iron Man, Battlestar Galactica, Wizard of Oz (Breygent), Lord of the Rings Masterpieces (series 1 and 2) and DC Legacy to name just a few.

 

Jim has no formal training but does site many influences that include: Paolo Serpieri, John Carpenter, Art Adams, Drew Stuzan, Frank Frazetta, Chris Bachalo, Travis Charest, Tim Bradsteet and David Fooden.

 

He is also a huge fan of Horror and Science Fiction films, including Halloween, Bladerunner, Star Trek, Aliens, The Lord of the Rings and of course, Star Wars.

Added guest –Adam Wilson!

 

The Great Allentown Comic Con! is proud to announce that original creator and writer Adam Wilson will be attending the April 16th Show!

 

 

Adam Wilson has been working as a comic writer for the past five years. He started out self-publishing his own mini-comics and before long his work was being featured in such anthologies as Dead Future, Candy or Medicine, Slam Bang, and If-X, just to name a few. Adam then went on to become one of the in-house writers at Twofold Comics where he penned two of their titles, Manifest Destiny and Life (With Friends), and acted as Contributing Editor to their popular short story anthology series, Shrunken Wool. Recently Adam joined up with 215 Ink to release his first original graphic novel, Brian & Bobbi, which will hit shelves later this February. The Great Allentown Comic Con! is proud to announce that original artist, painter, and creator Gus Fink will be attending the April 16th Show!

 

Gus Fink is a visionary Artist and Toy Designer who has created over 40 unique characters into Art Toys that are sold internationally - His paintings and mixed medium artwork have been sold in over 30 galleries across the United States and even overseas!

 

Comics include the Wild World of Gus Fink issues 1 and 2 published by AntiMatter Hoffman in 2003,

HellCar Comics Issues 8-14 2004-2005, "The Trouble with Igor" Graphic Novel published in 2005 by Slave Labor Graphics and the First ever Mini Comix/Sticker Packs in 2009.

Gus will be showcasing many of his creations at the show, as well as taking commissions and selling some original pieces and prints starting at only $20!

The Great Allentown Comic Con! is proud to announce that Mike Parla will be attending our upcoming April 16th Show!

 

Mike Parla is an artist/illustrator who likes to design concept and fan art in his free time while developing his own new characters. Currently he is working on a new comic with Dave Mancos titled “Tales of the Motor City.” He will be selling prints as well as taking commission work at the show, so be sure to see him early if you want something original!

The Great Allentown Comic Con! Is holding an Extra-Special Contest for attendees to our upcoming April 16th 2011 show!

One (1) Lucky winner will go home with Susan Storm! Or at least a replica figurine of her!

 

 

Contest Rules!

1) Contest is open to all attendees of the Great Allentown Comic Con! Who register (FREE!) on our website prior to April 14th 2011 (That’s 2 days before the show!)

2) You MUST be in attendance in the show room at the time the winner is announced (3:30pm on the day of the show)

3) Only one (1) entry per person please!

4) Hourly Door prizes will still be offered and have no relationship to this offer.

5) Winner will be selected using a random computer selection process. A list of the top 25 selections will be generated; 2-25 to be used should the initial selection not come forward.

6) In the unlikely scenario that no one on the list is in attendance, the GACC will then select from the Door Prize pool.
