When I look at the voting so far, there are lots of bizarre choices or people desperately trying to game their choices for some reason.

How does a one set of votes per person = "desperately trying to game their choices"...? Each person can only vote once for their particular fav. Is there a special feature to tell when a vote is REALLY earnest...?

You vote for SOME obvious books but don`t vote for other obvious books.

In practice it doesn't really matter though if 95% or 100% vote for AF #15 etc as they will clearly get into the top 30.

You know, Adventure 247 was one of the top Silver Age books in the late 80s and early 90s and I always thought it was a key book since relegated to 'loyal cult status', but the voting for seems to indicate otherwise. (shrug)

What continues to amaze me is the love for Ant-man, as TTA 27 is getting more votes than mega DC key Adventure #247 and cultural icon Mad #1, I just don`t see the importance of TTA 27, heck I am a Marvel fan and I thought Ray Palmer`s Atom was so much cooler than Pym`s Antman. 2c

The other method of gaming is that you know AF 15, FF 1, etc. are going to make it into the Top 30, so you don`t vote for any of those big books and allocate all your votes to marginal books.

There are some Marvel Zombies who simply can`t bear the idea of acknowledging the existence of any non-Marvel book. :gossip:

Personally, I didn`t vote for Mad #1 because it`s not a SA book.

1952 book.

Shouldn't have been in original list. Question is whether to retain in poll or to drop.

It looks like it may sneak into the top 30. If so I'm thinking of dropping it.

Any views?

FF#1 in a with tie AF#15? Where are my spidey homies at? lol

Killer thread, now if only I could pick 30 and POOF they are on my doorstep hm

This is not a vote for most popular. This is just a vote to see who gets in the room. In reality all of the monster books (maybe 7-8) should be tied because you are crazy or just have an agenda is you leave books like AF15, FF1, SC4, Hulk 1, XM1, and SC22 off your list.

By Poof do you mean like the State Farm Commercials. :baiting:

.....as far as SA team books go, it also pre-dates B&B 28 by almost two years....and was probably one of the first fresh ideas in years. As far as significance is concerned it should be a top 10 book.....but this poll is not focused on significance so we have to accept that. That Action 276 that Bill had in the sales thread is chock full of Legion first appearances. If the concept had continued uninterrupted from 247, it may have appealed to more sensibilities. GOD BLESS...

You still have no idea who voted for what. :)

Orrrrrr....people just vote for what they think is important.

Please, clue me in to the secret behind guessing motives in a secret ballot...I bet I could sell it for a fortune!

Why do you always try to make things more sinister than they are?

As I`ve watched the votes build in the poll, it was apparent that some people did not allocate any of their 30 votes to major books like AF 15, FF 1 and/or Showcase 4. So initially I was simply wondering how those books could not have received unanimous votes (ie, who thinks those books are not important?), and then I gave some possible reasons why that might have happened. What is your problem with that?
