FF#5 on EBAY

Sorry I'm not sure how to link items yet but what happened to that nice looking 6.0 raw issue that was pulled on Ebay? If I recall the bidding for it was below market value but there was still a few days before the auction closed.

I got offered the book in a e-mail for a price so I guess someone else who e-mailed him took a similar offer. I just couldn't pull the trigger on a non-CGC'd comic.

I often wonder why someone wouldn't have it slabbed (outside of the slow down in turn around times) given that they wanted to sell it. Its such a key book I'm sure they could have commanded a fair penny for it, especially if it was indeed a 6.0+.

He offered to sell it for $700. If it was a 6.0 (he personally said it was more like a 7.0), he could probably get $1,100 for it or more. Makes me wonder too.

Agreed. I'm willing to bet that a CGC 7.0 listed on Comic Link wouldn't last 3 minutes if it went for $1,100. Mainly because I would have bought it.

I would get it first . Hell, I'm offering $1,250 for a solid 6.5.

Do you know where to find one in a 6.0, 6.5 range, preferably slabbed? I think there is a just a huge market for key issues in that range. There must be tons of them out there somewhere. I almost get tired seeing 9.4 grades and higher that cost more than my vehicle did.

I have a Fantastic Four 5 in 5.5. I want to upgrade it and then I'll sell this one. I don't know of many places that have midgrades. Either 9.0 or higher or 4.0 and lower. I'll still keep checking Ebay.

If I see a key Silver Age age book such as FF#5 in a 6.0 with a clean cover free of really noticable markings I will almost always pull the trigger on buying it. However, at 5.5 and lower I tend to hesitate and look for other options. Don't know if you feel the same and if that's why your looking to upgrade? I've bought 3,4,6 and 12 in 6.0 grades and higher in the last 3 months alone but I'm going to curtail the purchasing for a while and focus on a very short most wanted list. FF#2, 9, 11 and definetly #5 is on it. Hard to be patient as these are such great books.

 

Keep me in mind if you decide to unload it one day.
