I am currently 300 pages into http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Chronicles-Conan-Robert-Howard/dp/0575077662 and the movie doesn't look like it does any justice to the character.

Geez, ya'll.... this was just a teaser (admittedly, a BAD teaser), and that actor looks a lot like what I would envision a young Conan to look like. Brooding, dark, lithe, and surly. I'll wait to see a full length trailer, with some actual action sequences, dialogue, and girls before casting an opinion about the overall worth of this endeavor.

I thought the point of a teaser trailer was to wet your appetite for the movie. It's supposed to give you enough that you are dying to see the movie, but not enough for you to know the plot of the movie. This trailer is a snorefest.

Too late, this trailer is already being universally ridiculed all across the interwebz.

 

Sadly, the live, love, slay, line is a major source of the scorn when in fact that's a pure REH line from "Queen of the Black Coast." Probably there to throw a bone to the REH diehards like me. I imagine that in the context of love scene pillow talk it works, but thrown out there in a trailer randomly it sounds cheesy. I'm sure that line's presence is due to Sean Hood's massive rewrite which was supposed to make it more Howardian - unfortunately Sean was given a pig and some lipstick to work with.

Maybe, if we all try our very best we can "wish" it into not totally sucking donkey dingle.
