This is all the Atlas I currently have CGCed. I have a few more pre-heros, but they're not slabbed. I'll probably slab them--if I decide to sell them.

 

By the way--has anybody noticed that the Journey Into Unknown Worlds is less than HALF Overstreet? Will this be a last minute jumper--or a super low-priced bargain?

I think the guide's low on all these books--Atlas/Marvel books are popular and pretty rare. I hope to see some last minute jumps.

 

In the mean time, my Marvel Mystery #72 CGC 9.2 is pulling a cool grand plus with almost 9 days to go! My Daring #11 has some movement to make.. but it has almost 9 days as well...

Well, there was a *little* bit of overnight action on these.. but they're still way below guide!

 

World of Mystery # 1 made it to $102.50.. still below guide!

 

Journey Into Unknown Worlds #37 went to $57.. STILL below half guide.

 

No movement on the Marvel Tales.. beautiful comic, and still below half guide!

 

The Journey Into Mystery moved to $250.

Looking at those comparisons, I think you'd better through your overstreet out the window Can we say FMV?

I think the Overstreet is a decent guide--though not always accurately reflecting what the market will bear--sometimes it's too high, sometimes it's too low.

 

Also, if one is to believe the Comic Buyer's Guide, CGC books should go higher. The CBG every week shows the percentage above Near Mint that each grade recieved. In theory, they should go over guide (especially the high grade books) because they're slabbed.

 

I point out how low the current bid is compared to Overstreet--largely to show that they are a bargain (and hopefully encourage bidders??)

I hope you get a good bump at the end for the Atlas books.

 

There aren't as many people collecting these as you would suspect, as I usually win them on eBay right at or a little lower than guide (if in the VF to VF+ range).

Plus, most of the ones that sell for over guide come from a pedigree collection (White Mountain, Bethlehem, Circle 8, etc.).

 

Now Pre-Hero Marvel is a different story as they rarely sell for less than guide (if VF or above).
