Thor Movie as good as Iron Man

Damn movies today.

I like lots of modern movies. Just not Thor or most comic-based movies.

The weakest part of the story was the fact that we were supposed to believe in the love between Thor and Jane based on the story the movie offered us

I agree that among many weak Earth moments, that was the weakest.

 

Plus, I didn`t believe the part about Thor becoming pure and humble. He gets to use Mjolnir again because he served breakfast to everyone? He didn`t even wash the dishes!

 

I just don`t understand why the writers didn`t have him lose his memory and experience life as a human, and thus more convincingly experience humility, before regaining his god-hood.

Since this was a 3D movie, normally around $14. But I saw it on a discount day so "only" about $8.

 

I always said that if they do the next movie with an Asgard based theme it would absolutely kick butt.

The scenes in Asgard and Jotenheim truly rocked, although I think the Frost Giants should`ve been bigger.

 

It`s amazing how much CGI has improved just over the last few years. When I think how impressed I was by the effects and visual spectacle of LOTR, I can`t even imagine how mindblowing The Hobbit is going to be with Peter Jackson having access to the latest technology.

.......you can say that again, friend. LOTR is the benchmark for me. That trial of the Gods storyline from JIM 116 could be interesting with a nice lead in to Mangog, Ulik, and Ragnarok.....Midgaard is for rookies. GOD BLESS...

SPOILERS:

 

I just watched the Thor movie yesterday, and it was just "okay" in my opinion.

 

There was actually no aspect of the movie that I thought was great. Everything was just kind of bland in my opinion. The acting was fairly average overall. The guy that played Thor did a good job I thought, but it was no match made in heaven like Robert Downey Jr as Stark.

 

The frost giants looked like generic baddies. The main frost giant looks a lot like a villain from Power Rangers, years ago.

 

The editing was also odd. They made use of these strange jump cuts that were confusing the heck out of me. I thought that maybe something was wrong with the film and that it skipped over some of it, but I think it was actually the editing.

 

I did not think the fighting scenes were that great either. They were okay, but weak when compared to any other Marvel movie. The love story seemed like it was thrown together. Everything just felt very fast paced; very little in the way of character development for any of the characters besides Thor. Loki goes from being a good guy to a baddie in a split second.

 

I would give the movie a 5/10.

Ok, just watched most of it again. The guy that plays Loki is just spot on.

 

For me, Loki steals this movie (not to the degree that Hit Girl stole Kick , though)
