Here for sale is a copy of Archie's Girls Betty and Veronica #95(1963) where Big Ethel( her 4th appearance) was drawn completely wrong inside the book by the artist and the character seen drawn does not even begin to look like her. I am selling this nice VG grade copy for $30.00 with "FREE shipping" inside the USA and to Canada.

I can't really address the Big Ethel issue, though I suspect the nature of the character was not yet determined in 1963, but "goom-bye" is not a misspelling but a slang term associated with the beat generation, which would still have had currency in 1963, though I don't know how widely used the expression was at that time.

"Goom-bye" is indeed 50's slang, and still in use right up into the early 70's in the Michigan area, at least. I'm not sure but what I might've said it myself oncet or twicet.
