That doesn't make it okay. These "artists" crack me up. Don't want to upset the delicate genius and actually hold them to some sort of a deadline. But we keep lining up to give them our money, no wonder they do what they want. Reminds me of the NFL, just on a much smaller scale!

....no knock on Chainball, more of a knock on Platt!

And on an entirely other note, I agree with Sean....

I've had an artist working on SIX sketch covers for almost six months.

I saw him at Baltimore, he's getting ready to finish the last one.

He asked me about his money on that last one?

I told him it appeared that he needed some incentive to finish the job.

You get the balance when the work is complete.

I never ever thought in a million years that an artist with NO work schedule (ie, no work) would take six months to do six sketch covers.

I move forward with 50% down and the balance when the job is complete or it's just a deal breaker. Sorry. This is ridiculous.

Oh, I don't mind, truly. I just want to know what my books will grade out.

Once I know that, it doesn't matter what happens.

Hell, half my books are sitting in other people's homes right now, and have been for years in some cases.

lol
