2011 Monsterpalooza books!!!

11 posts in this topic

Some amazing books were done at the 2011 Monsterpalooza! Here are a few samplings:

First is a Dark Horse Creature from the Black Lagoon signed by Julie Adams and Ricou Browning! I have an extra 9.4 if anyone is interested!

Next is a very significant SS book. It is the first signed by a centenarian. 101 year old Carla Laemmle (who appeared in the 1925 Phontom of the Opera and 1931 Dracula) signed this awesome Dracula comic.

One of the coolest opportunities at the Monsterpalooza was Haruo Nakajima, the man who played Godzilla for nearly 3 decades! Here are a few books he signed. Love the Japanese writing! I have an extra copy of the IDW (Alex Ross cover) if anyone is interested.

Here are a few sketch covers done at the show:

The first two (Wolverine and Spider-Man) were sketched by Kerry Gammel.

The Walking Dead 75 has a "Tar-Man" zombie from Retun of the Living Dead by William Stout!

Here are two very cool horror/sci-fi comics:

The first is a Ray Bradbury Comics signed by Bradbury and cover artist William Stout (with a niffty dino-sketch).

Next is a Bela Lugosi's Tales from the Grave signed by Bela Lugosi Jr and 3 artists who worked on the book.

Just back from CGC!! Three AMAZING BOOKS! First up is a Famous Monsters 232-33 signed by Bert I. Gordon

Next up is one of the all-time great SS magazines. The Great Kris Moore pulled this off, it's a HOWLING cast reunion signed Starburst 34. It's signed by Joe Dante, Robert Picardo, Belinda Belaski, Don McLeod, and Dee Wallace. Ah yes, and by the way it also signed by RICK BAKER ! The same Rick Baker who has won 7 Oscars and worked on just about every iconic film since the late 1970's! Baker did do some of the effects work on the Howling even though Bob Bottin recieved most of the credit.

Lastly is a Famous Monsters #251 with the 1/10 variant cover signed by William Stout! Love, the Frankestien sketch!
