What would be an appropriate price tag for this copy? I've seen a lot of crappy FF#1's go for about $2K lately. I'd love to own this issue if someone hadn't taken the weed wacker to the front cover.

Hmm..maybe its time to sell my mid grade copy.....

 

I honestly think $3k for a low grade copy is a bit excessive....especially one with the "weed-whacker" look, but then, I still remember buying a fair copy at a little comic book shop in N.Y. for $50.

Not enough if you paid $3K for a G/VG copy, then paid to have it restored.

15 sales for G/VG 3.0s with an average selling price of $1846 (with the price trending upward). That's why I thought $3K was a little out of whack.

It seems the huge prices on the HG copies are starting to filter down to the lower grades. And who was it who said that low-mid grade books only fetch 40% of OS guide?
