What do you guys do when you win these bogus auctions? Just do it under a bogus account and let it get suspended if he files a non-paying bidder complaint?

I either bid with my bogus account or with my regular ummseven account. If I win, I don't pay. 95% of these BS auctions are canceled early anyway.

I was talking with this guy about purchasing this book. In fact, I'm the person he just

ended the auction early for after numberous detailed scans and history of the piece, I was

really hoping I was about to get a decent deal on this book. Other than the fact

that he didn't post a reserve, it seemed on the level. Would you guys please let

me know what the history with this guy is in as much detail as possible so I don't

send off my life savings. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I'm assuming you are "bighowboy" on ebay? All I have to say is don't send the money. SCAM SCAM SCAM! Stolen scans, wire transfer, doesn't answer emails. I'm kind of busy right now so hopefuly other board members can give you some input. SCAM!!!!

Yeh don't pay him anything. I won't give you any details either, for the obvious reason that a scam can be improved by people pointing out flaws, but I would highly suggest not sending him a dime.

Don't give up, Matt. The odds grow progressively in your favor with each auction loss that you'll eventually "win" one of these bogus, fake, spurious, stolen scan, fraudulent "auctions". It's good to win one of these scam pieces. It builds character!
