ComicCollectors.net grading?

5 posts in this topic

Ok, so this may have been posted before but I can't seem to find it. How is Marnin's grading? I am looking at a few 9.4's and a 9.6, has anyone bought from him and had the books CGC'd? If so, how accurate was he? Any info would be great!! smile.gif

I have bought a couple books from him and been satisfied. But BlazingBob knows him better, and I seem to recount him parodying him one time about a slightly shifting set of standards. He's got nice stuff without a doubt, but as to how strictly he's grading from 9.0-9.4, I don't know. The stuff I bought (like F+ to VF) wouldn't be a potential "ooops" if CGC disagreed a hair one way or the other.

But Marnin's been a good guy to me anyway - and I'd say you'd likely not be too badly off giving him a try at least.

Murph0,

I bought most of my HG raw material from Marnin years ago prior to CGC, and was satisfied with his grading skills on most occasions. If, however, you're looking for a bargain then ComicCollectors.net may not be your cup of tea. Expect to pay a premium for anything NM 9.4 upwards, raw or slabbed. Overall, Marnin's a pretty cool guy.

Marin, should i say Mr. Mass pedigree finder, slams CGC but yet has no problem bringing his prices up to CGC levels,I just don't think his grading is tigh enough to trust his grading at his prices,$210.00 for a Spidey 300 "9.6" unslabbed.what if it comes back 9.4? your screwed! that's why i don't buy from him.Too much of a risk, too much cash to take that chance. But that is me personally. kevin
