Doesn't look like there's much wrong with this book, and would be 9.4 +....

 

At that level high res scans of both covers are needed, and even then, it's difficult to have much confidence in distinguishing between a 9.4, 9.6, 9.8 IMO...

If you are trying to buy this book based on digital photos, I would ask for "extreme closeup" shots up and down the front and back of the spine, and err on the side of caution. When I look closely, I can just barely see a few spine ticks on the front and at least one on the back, but they are fuzzy b/c of the difficulty in taking digital photos as crisp as scans. A series of light, color-breaking spine ticks (which could be the difference between, say, a 9.4 and a 9.0) will be very hard to catch with digital photos only.

I can see 4 cb ticks on the front spine.....3 of them are the left of Mcfarlane sig and the 4th one is near the bottom staple.
