Tampa Bay Comic Con! November 13th, 2011!

It was an exhausting show. I am constantly being summoned to quell some problem. I never get to stand around and chat. The drive back to Orlando last night was one of the most grueling drives ever--I had to stop at a rest stop and sleep.

I was worth it though! Next convention is March 3-4, 2012!

I observed your efforts all morning. If you weren't on the phone your were talking to a vendor or guest or running to cater to their needs. Poor Neil up front told me his arse & back were in pain from only leaving the chair up front for two minutes in 6 hours to pee. But observe the dividends of your efforts!

Congratulations on all your hard work & success, Stephen! I knew you had it in you the day I met you in that same hall back when you were 16 & you were trading low grade SA Marvel keys to Crazy Ed! lol lol lol lol

The convention was a success! We did have the last minute cancellations of Alex Saviuk and Cary Nord, which was disappointing for some attendees, but overall things went well. The attendance was strong, but did not break the previous show's record of 1,500, plus kids. We had about 1,100, plus kids this time around which is still a very strong turnout in my opinion. However, even with the slightly lower attendance, the exhibitors seemed to do very well. I asked almost all of the dealers how they did, and the worst I heard was, "I did okay". Apart from that response from a singular dealer, everyone else reported very positive results to me.

Dude for a one day show on a Sunday during football season having 1100 people thru the door is outstanding especially when you consider that the Houston Texans destroyed the Tampa Bay Buccaners :slapfight:

Thanks Tupenny! I had my low-grade SA, and you had an Avengers Annual #10 CGC 9.6 lol

Sonofpromoterman: one of our dealers actually had his booth ran by a bunch of his friends for a while because he just had to watch that football game. He showed up towards the end of the day mentioning that he wasted his time lol

No. I drove the whole way. Bob wanted to admire the scenery. All the farms and refineries. He likes stuff like that and it keeps him quiet and in his happy place.

Nobody lives in-between those two cities. A Gomer Pyle police officer is the only resistance you'll find. You can floor it the entire way.

Gomer Pyle was a mechanic(and later marine) who lived in North Carolina. Barney Fife was a deputy who lived in North Carolina. Sheriff Buford T Justice might be your best and most appropriate analogy. (that is from Smokey and the Bandit.....just in case you don't know)

Actually, Gomer was deputized by Barney in at least a couple of episodes. ;)
