That was the oldest ones I had left. I have more where the other runs left off up to about issue 280ish.

I'm planning to list them in the morning.

I'll look through and see what else I have. That might have been it for the '50s.

Updated list of what's left. Everything on this list is now 50% off!

____________________________________________________________________

Lot #4 Mad #113, 114, 119, 120, 122, 127 and all four variants of issue 123.

To my knowledge, this is the very first variant cover ever in the comic industry.

10 books, all lower grade.

$10

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lot #5 Starlog #10, 12, 22, and two copies of 33.

Good Sci-Fi from the '70s-'80s.

5 books. The first two are a little beat, but the later three are in the F to VF range.

$5

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

DVD - The complete box set of Brisco County Jr

Still shrink-wrapped and never opened.

$20

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lot #8 Bizarre Sex #9 (6th print) 8.0

First Omaha the Cat Dancer

$7

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lot #15 Mad (Super) Special #1 WITH Insert (9.2)

Has a light bend at the top right corner. Only one 9.4 tops the census. If pressed, this may take it down.

$60

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lot #16 Mad (Super) Special #4 WITH Insert (9.6)

Only two 9.4's are the top census. This will take them down.

$75

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lot #18 Mad (Super) Special #6 WITH Insert (9.4)

There are two 9.4's. This would make it three.

$40

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lot #19 Mad Super Special #14 WITH Insert (9.4/9.6)

One 9.6 on top of the census. This might tie it.

$30

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lot #20 Mad Super Special #22 WITH Insert (9.4)

$15

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lot #21 Mad Super Special #23 WITH Insert (8.0)

Nice unread copy. Just not up to snuff like the others were.

$5

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lot #22 Mad Super Special #24 WITH Nostalgic Mad Insert (8.0)

Nice unread copy. Just not up to snuff like the others were.

$5

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lot #24 Rolling Stone Magazine #246 (August 25th, 1977)

Huge interview with Lucas BEFORE he started screwing up the Star Wars franchise.

All kinds of early info. Lots of things that were changed as the movies were made.

Tells about Vader being burned up in the volcano. A fanboy's wet dream.

The interview is actually worth reading if you're a fan.

$5

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lot #26 Mad Super Specials #17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30

Thanks, Sharon.

The Super Specials were always my favorites because you got the cool stickers, records, and comics as a bonus. :cloud9:

Tempting! I've already got 'em, but this could be an upgrade.

EDIT -- what the heck, I'll take it...

:takeit:

You could be right about these being the first variant covers. But as a Mad collector, I gotta chime in and say that Mad #28 (the first "Spring Issue") also has variant covers. In that case, it is probably inadvertent, or the result of Harvey Kurtzman deciding to change the corner gag after one of the print runs was completed. Some copies say "Guided Missiles," and some say "Income Tax Guide" in the yellow band at the lower-right corner. Of the "Income Tax Guide" covers, there are also two versions, with small changes to the printing insignia.

Yes. I have a big run of Australian Mad if you're interested in them.

Issues around 408 through 431 and also another 20-30 issues of Mad XL from Australia.

Thanks for your purchases. :applause:
