Love this song. Brad Gillis left Night Ranger to team up with Ozzy when Ozzy left Sabbath just before Randy Rhoads. He came back to Night Ranger to record this. Love his guitar sound. It screeches and sings at the same time. Very melodic.

Actually, Brad Gillis joined Ozzy just after the death of Randy Rhodes. The only album he played on was Ozzy's live album "Speak of the Devil"

From Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speak_of_the_Devil_%28Ozzy_Osbourne_album%29

This is the only official Osbourne recording to feature Night Ranger guitarist Brad Gillis, who had stepped in for the recently deceased Randy Rhoads, following Bernie Torme's brief stint. However, Gillis did tour with Osbourne during this time period, and did play solo material from the first two solo albums on the tour. These recordings can be heard/seen on the Speak of the Devil VHS/Laserdisc and more recently the Japan only DVD release

You got it right.

Because "Speak Of The Devil" was all Sabbath songs for some reason I thought that Ozzy had not yet recorded any new material after Sabbath.

God, I can't believe it's been 30 years since all this happened. My memory failed me.

Sorry gang.

:foryou:

Let us not forget the 80's gave birth to hip-hop, which was at odds with the 80's hair band rock culture.

That is... until Run DMC and my old friend Steve Tyler bridged the gap between the two. When I was ten my mother was friends with him for a time, and I got to hang out with him a few times.

Joy Division

:cloud9:

would have loved to see them live. of course, it would have been me and sixty Manchester shoegazers, but i could have made it work.

Have you seen the movie 24 Hour Party People?

Best band ever. :cloud9:

No I haven't actually.

Have you see No Control?

no. 24 hour is about the Manchester scene and mostly centers on the Happy Mondays. pretty good, actually

This thread has taken a turn for the worse, and is now in DIRE STRAIGHTS

If there is one guitar solo that brings tears to my eyes, it's this one from the same album.

Listen to him torment those strings...

I listened to this song when I was 15 years old, driving my uncles car (yes, I know I was only 15) through the Tennessee mountains on the way back from Florida.

These mist covered mountains...

If I may add to this discussion....

Best Metal Album Ever. Bar None.

IMO, probably Top 3 of All Time. Easy Top 5.

Probably #1 imo

Out of the big four-

I never got into Anthrax, heard some Slayer that I liked but never really got into it-

But Metallica and Megadeth's first 4 albums are really all I need to know metal wise.

I could not get into Megadeth, Anthrax or Slayer.

Metallica got my attention and I dropped Motley Crue and Quiet Riot for Kill 'em All and Ride The Lightning.

Apparenty, Doug Schmell pulled off a real dcik move over at Bob Storm's table at the NYCC. I don't normally get caught up in this kind of stuff, but it sounded pretty disrespectful and I like to comment on disrespectful cases.

Oh, if I'm one if the last 3 posts when this gets locked down, just remember I didn't cause the lock. I blame the guy that said he liked Wham! :sumo:
