If you participate in the drama, you must enjoy it to some extent. There's a reason threads rife with drama get thousands of posts; most of us like it. It's an outlet. Don't fight it. You'll inevitably get pulled into another argument, and all of your sentiments here will be forgotten.

You can participate in the drama and not actually get angry, especially because your livelihood doesn't depend on this hobby. As Hunter S. Thompson said "life is a tragedy to those who feel, and a comedy to those who think". You can appreciate these disputes for all their entertaining absurdity, just don't get emotionally invested. They're ing comic books.

Either way, good luck. (thumbs u

I don't need it.

You can start by posting the pics of my books burning..... :baiting:
They are still sitting right behind me. I apologized to you long ago, you don't want to accept. I understand.

It's called a joke, hence the dots............... should I pm you next time to warn you of possible sarcasm?

Good luck, Pat.

Every one of us needs to constantly re-evaluate. Except maybe BlowUpTheMoon and Senormac. Those cats are stable.

You especially.

No question about it.

It took you six years to get to 5,000, but you're gonna hit 6,000 in another month or so. Did you get laid off or something...?

After my confrontation with Restoman yesterday I came to a conclusion. I don't need the krap in my life. I love comics, but see what my future is going to be by looking at some of my mentors who have all but left the hobby or collecting. As much as I loved my time with the NOD, and the seriously high hopes I had for the CBCA when the handful of us created it. I know I have to move on. I don't have the interest in the debates, I don't feel like carrying this weight and anger anymore.

I know how to find shills in auctions, I know who to deal with and not deal with. I know which guys are honest and worth giving my very hard earned money. So after the pressing wars, the NOD thread, the shill or no shill threads I say eff it. I want to do nothing other than enjoy this hobby, and need to do it without losing myself in the BS. So I know what to do.

I will no longer bash Metro, I may rib them every once in awhile.

I will no longer bash WorldWide Comics. I would however love an explanation as to why they never formally responded to the shill threads.

And I will let up on Matt Nelson. He likely did not directly know what was going on, and there is no reason to make this personal. If he did actually do the shilling, then I just look like an a-hole. But I doubt he was.

So that is it. I start a clean slate. Except the obvious Schmell, Robojojo, Rocknrollcomics 007.

So that is it. I am starting over, and wish to go back to just enjoying the hobby again.

Pat-

Pat,

You are one of my favorite people. Life is short and family takes precedence. Negative energy is exhausting, so I am with you. Picking your battles and finding the funny in everything will help you get past the debbie downers in the hobby.

Save your energy, pick your battles and try to enjoy you kids when they are young.

Best,

Chris

Who looks at those things? :baiting:

Nah, my day job actually changed for the better. And I run hot/cold. I think I've taken 3 or 4 breaks in my time here. No FDQ exits, I just slip out the side door, take a break, come back for more insanity, repeat.

I watched Green Lantern last night for the first time.

I actually thought it was pretty good.

(thumbs up)

Seemed busy, but it hit a lot of contemporary plot ideas. I won't hold my breath for Alan Scott appearing somewhere in the sequel.

Damn it.

That would have been a LOT funnier if I'd started it out "Luigi,"

Drat.

I forgive you Mario.

If it helps, Fingh was desperately pining for you a month or two ago....

And then in Feb, too...

Maybe that's the same one. Time's definitely dilated for me lately.
