Perhaps I'm a little daft, (well maybe a lot daft) but I thought I'd start promoting next week's auctions now. With the Philly Wizard show coming up I'm sure many of you have already set aside funds for the show, but I recommend that you peruse our auctions for some truly amazing values! Here's a brief rundown of what's closing day to day. I'll post updates to this initial listing with more details as the auctions approach closing.

 

MONDAY

 

Fantastic Four #351 to #364- 13 issues mostly mid to high grade. Nothing outstand but all good fillers and cheap.

 

X-Men (V.2) #1 to #25- 11 issues including all 5 first issue covers and #25 where Magneto draws the adamantium out of Wolvies bones and Prof X "erases" all of Magneto's memories. Most VF to NM.

 

X-Men #28 CGC VF 8.0 (first app of Banshee)- no real activity on it yet. Reserved at $150, BIN @ $200. Free shipping for forum members if the BIN is used. A nice copy for a collector higher grade yet still affordable.

 

X-Men #94 CGC VF/NM 9.0 WP- YUM! simply a nice book but not priced in the stratosphere. Reserve at $650, BIN @ $800. Free shipping for forum members if the BIN is used.

 

Uncanny X-Men #124 CGC VF+ 8.5- Nice higher grade bronze X-Men issue. Starts at $9.99 w/no reserve, BIN @ $30.

 

Uncanny X-Men #134 CGC VF+ 8.5 WP- The big turning point in the Dark Phoenix saga where Phoenix becomes Dark Phoenix. Only one bid on this puppy! Currently at $9.99

 

Uncanny X-Men #143 CGC NM+ 9.6- The last X-Men issue with John Byrne artwork. Currently with 2 bids at $10.50.

 

TUESDAY

 

A nice mix of bronze and copper Uncanny X-Men (97-143 and 190-199, 17 issues), Silver and Bronze ASM reader copies (60-149, 5 issues), and two CGC silver X-Men issues.

 

X-Men 53 CGC NM+ 9.6 1st Barry Windsor-Smith Comic Art TC- A great book for X-men collectors and Barry Smith fans (c'mon there's gotta be some out there!) This copy is CGC Top Census at 9.6 and reserved at $550, BIN $650. Free shipping for forum members if the BIN is used.

 

X-Men 61 CGC VF 8.0 2nd App Sauron- a nice higher grade piece to add to a Silver X-men collection. A couple of bids so far at $11.51.

 

WEDNESDAY

 

A few Bronze age X-Men sprinkled in with X-Men (V.2) copies that were just laying around and some interesting Gambit books as well. The interesting stuff here is the reader copy of ASM #74 (last 12 cent issue) and 10 bronze age ASM copies (163-180) including 177-180, all green goblin covers/storylines.

 

THURSDAY

 

Some early Copper age Uncanny X-men issues(8 issues 177-210), X-Men The Movie Beginnings TPB. 11 Amazing Spider-Man issues from 75-173 featuring #75 "death" of Silvermane (FN/VF 7.0), #108 1st app of Sha-Shan (FN/VF 7.0), #133 Molten Man C/Story (VF/NM 9.0), and #144 1st Full App of Gwen Stacy clone (NM- 9.2). YUM! I'll take one Gwen Stacy clone to go please!

 

FRIDAY

 

More early Copper age Uncanny X-Men (10 issues, 168-228, mostly VF to VF/NM), Avengers (10 issues, 336-345, most VF/NM to NM), and more Bronze age Amazing Spider-Man (15 issues, 127-210, mostly FN to VF/NM) including #140 1st Glory Grant (VF+ 8.5), #194 1st App Black Cat (VF+ 8.5), and #210 1st App Madame Web (FN+ 6.5).

1. Buy good stuff at a reasonable price.

 

2. Sell it at a reasonable price (and hopefully a profit!)

 

3. (The most important) Treat your customers the way YOU want to be treated.

 

Ya gotta remember there will ALWAYS be good stuff out there somewhere at a good price and there will ALWAYS be room for profit with the right customer. But when ya [!@#%^&^] everyone off and no one will trust you enough to buy from you, you become a full-time collector...
