How to tell if CGC seal is damaged?

4 posts in this topic

I have read that you can visibly tell if the seal has been opened, yet it is designed to open easily. What do you look for to see if it has been opened? Is it obvious?

This seal appears damaged on the CGC logo, is this anything to worry about?

Also I hear the term 'slabbed' - what does this mean?

Thanks for any help.

Floob.

Slabbed is just slag for CGCed comics

Thanks for that - I got confused cos I saw an auction that said a comic was CGC'd but not slabbed???

That probably means it was graded then removed from the slab. I do that a lot when I buy low-mid grade Silver-Age readers.
