Action Comics #7: A pointless exercise in comic publishing.

All Star Western #7: A disappointing issue. JH is not really suited for the world of the costumed vigilante.

Animal Man #7: Another good read from one of the best new books being published.

Aquaman #7: This issue created a bit of controversy in the media because of the death of one of the characters – stupid academics just don’t realise that nobody ever really dies in a mainstream comics.

Bat Girl #7: I got bored very quickly reading this.

Batman #7: A modern classic in the making – tooth extraction at its most violent.

Batman & Robin #7: It took me a minute to read this drivel.

Batman the Dark Night #7: Terrible.

Batwing #7: It is difficult to know which is worse, the art or the writing – both suck.

Batwoman #7: Dull.

Birds of Prey #7: A great issue – worth it for the cut to the chase head slice alone.

Blackhawks #7: Haven’t they cancelled this yet?

Blue Beetle #7: An enjoyable read, even with the eating of the cats.

Captain Atom #7: An intriguing issue and a much better read than the previous 6.

Catwoman #7: Sex, violence, prostitution, the murder of women and more T&A than you’ll find in any GFT book. Don’t let your mother read this book. Or your kids. Or anybody.

DCU Presents #7: The Challengers go all Indiana Jones, but in a good way.

Deathstroke #7: Father and son violence always makes good entertainment.

Demon Knights #7: Magical.

Detective #7: Dullsville.

Frankenstein #7: Horrific, but in an entertaining way.

Green Arrow #7: Predictable.

Green Lantern #7: Illuminating.

Green Lantern Corps #7: Emotional.

Green Lantern New Guardians #78: Colourful

Grifter #7: An enjoyable super-hero romp with secret invasions and angry aliens.

Hawk & Dove #7: A half-decent story ruined by terrible art.

I Vampire #7: Fangtastic.

Justice League #7: A better read than the previous issues and a nice back-up Shazam story.

Justice League Dark #7: I’m enjoying this little get together of supernatural characters as a team.

Justice League International #7: Yawn.

Legion Lost #7: They should have stayed lost.

LSH: Too many characters.

Men of War #7: Two well written stories.

Mister Terrific #7: Boring.

Nightwing #7: Put me to sleep.

OMAC #7: It’s like a time warp back to the 70’s reading this.

Red Hood and the Outlaws #7: Criminal

Red Lanterns #7: Bloody, but unbound.

Resurrection Man #7: Mildly interesting.

Static Shock #7: Just plain dull.

Stormwatch #7: I miss the Authority.

Suicide Squad #7: Death is not the answer.

Superboy #7: Not super but interesting enough to keep me reading without falling asleep.

Supergirl #7: An enjoyable super hero romp.

Superman #7: Superfluous.

Swamp Thing #7: Green is good – very, very good.

Teen Titans #7: Teenage kicks.

The Flash #7: Intriguing.

The Fury of Firestorm #7: Hot hot heat.

The Savage Hawkman #7: Zombies versus birds.

Voodoo: I like this book – interesting characters and a good story.

Wonder Woman #7: The best was saved to last – this is an excellent book.

Ghost Rider: #0.1-#8

A female Rider, plenty of humour and lots of musical references - probably the best run of Ghost Rider books I've read since 1978.

Hulk #1-#50

Red Hulk, Blue Hulk, Compound Hulk, the Impossible Man, the Defenders, Rick Jones as the krappy A-Bomb, a She-Hulk, a Savage She-Hulk, Planet Red Hulk, a new MODOK, Secret Avengers, regular Avengers, Machine Man, ancient humans eating alien babies, the Eternals and a haunted Rulk.

For the first 20+ issues this was a terrible, terrible book based upon a terrible, terrible idea - take a bow Jeph Loeb.

Thankfully Jeff Parker has turned the title into an interesting and enjoyable read.

April reading... April was indie graphic novel month.

David Boring, Ghost World, Ice Haven, Wilson by Daniel Clowes - Beautiful artwork, but the characters tend to be slightly depressing. ;)

Maus by Art Spiegelman - Fascinating account of the holocaust. Definitely makes you realize how easy we have it these days.

Fred the Clown by Roger Langridge - Beautifully crafted and amusing vignettes.

Monkey vs Robot by James Kochalka - Only mildly interesting.

The Rabbi's Cat by Joann Sfar - A quirky, humorous, and poignant tale.

Crogan's Vengeance & Crogan's March by Chris Schweizer - Love Schweizer's art and storytelling. Read the pirate story in one sitting!

Being so close to 1000 comics I couldn't resist and pushed the envelop a little... had a lot of time yesterday to read and had a few hours today as well...

So this is the latest batch :

Batman Year one - Scarecrow 110 pages (5 comics). Really enjoyed this, Robin was pretty mouthy but not obnoxious.

Warren Ellis' Apparat 1 - 4

Vampirella Red Room #1

Winter Soldier #4

Wonder Woman #8

Thief of THieves #3

The Unwritten #36

The SHade #7

Suicide Squad #8

Resurrection Man #8

Moon Knight #12

Lobster Johnson - The Burning Hand #4

Hellblazer #290

Fables #116

Demon Knights #8

Eerie #42 - #46 275 pages (12 comics)

Jack of Fables #11 - #20

44 comics added for a total of ..... 1004 comics read in 2012 :cloud9:

I did it about a month quicker than last year, where I only reached 1000 comics on June 3rd...In fact I had only reached about 780 comics this time last year.

I don't think I can keep this tempo up as April is traditionally the month where I have the most free time, but seeing I ended last year with 2245 comics read, if I ad the 220 I'm ahead compared to last year I should be able to reach my goal of 2500 comics read in 2012 :wishluck:

And yes, before anybody says anything, I'm taking this way too seriously lol

Continuing my way through modern Marvel titles:

Incredible Hulk: 600-635 & 1-7

The Hulk's son, his daughter and his wife - all get to play in the Gamma playground. Eventually the Hulk & Banner split in two (incredible), Banner turns into Dr Moreau (by George), Banner dies (possibly) and irradiated monkey poop is flung around (shoot!).

Action Comics #8: Superman/Clark looks about 14 years old, the costume is terrible and some of the art made me cringe.

All Star Western #8: An improvement upon last issue but JH still needs to be out in the wild west.

Animal Man #8: Another excellent issue – puts most of the new DC to shame.

Aquaman #8: The mystery of Aquaman and Atlantis continues – a decent read but more Mera is needed.

Bat Girl #8: I couldn't read half of this – literally. Which genius at DC thinks tiny yellow text printed on a black background is the optimum colours for reading?

Batman #8: Night of the Owls – top notch!

Batman & Robin #8: Some father and son bonding – an improvement upon previous issues.

Batman the Dark Night #8: Madness.

Batwing #8: Brothers in arms.

Batwoman #8: Nice cover, shame about the story/

Birds of Prey #8: I like the cast of characters in BOP – shame they have to scrap with some stupid opponents in this issue.

Blackhawks #8: Still waiting for this to be canceled.

Blue Beetle #8: Much to my surprise, still enjoying this.

Captain Atom #8: Back to the rubbish it was previously.

Catwoman #8: Soft porn for teenage boys. I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't so badly written.
