I can't even fathom the instructions, as I am not too smart from Kanada. So you register for SDCC ID to have the privelage of trying to buy a badge? Do you need this I.D. to also line up for a SDCC hotel??

kids under 12 are free and you can register them at the show with a paid adult.

yes. but I think the plan is you only register the ID once ever and then you just buy with the ID every year.

 

I'm really hoping this means that they will let you buy online during the show this year without having to wait in line.

Yes, if you ever hope to buy a ticket then you will need an ID. I don't think they've tied in hotel reservations yet.
