Well, jeez - if we're going to get technical, black is a color when used in a subtractive color model, but it is not a color when used in an additive color model.

well, if we're going to get technical, once you go black...you need to turn on the light

You have it backwards.

Black is composed of all colors of the rainbow, and it simply holds them, neither reflecting them nor showing them to the viewer.

Pour paints together and tell me do they turn Black or white

What about in outer space? Is black all the colors of the rainbow there...?

The light spectrum however is the opposite. White light is all the colors of the visible spectrum where as "black light" (no such thing, in this context, exists) commonly known as darkness, is the lack of all colors. If something is, say, green, this object will absorb all colors of light and reflect the green part of the spectrum. We thus perceive the object as being green. The brightness or darkness of these colors depends upon the objects ability to reflect and absorb whatever color.

SO

Light - White is all the colors, black is none of them (darkness)

Paint - White is none of the colors, black is a mixture of them al

So if we can't link to something that might be copyrighted, say like our

favorite comic book character, then this place might actually have to

be closed. And CGC could or could not advertise their product by using

select copyrighted comic book covers without permission of the original

publisher ??

Absolutely baffles my poor eff.org 'n mind..

Pour paints together and tell me do they turn Black or white

1. Black is the absence of color (and is therefore not a color)

Explanation:

When there is no light, everything is black. Test this out by going into a photographic dark room. There are no photons of light. In other words, there are no photons of colors.

2. White is the blending of all colors and is a color.

Explanation:

Light appears colorless or white. Sunlight is white light that is composed of all the colors of the spectrum. A rainbow is proof. You can't see the colors of sunlight except when atmospheric conditions bend the light rays and create a rainbow. You can also use a prism to demonstrate this.

Fact: The sum of all the colors of light add up to white. This is additive color theory.

Lightness vs. Brightness :slapfight:

Color = hue, lightness, and saturation for objects and hue, brightness, and saturation for light sources.

(thumbs u Watson.

Without light.... there is NO color.

Without light there is also no paint Ares :baiting:

White is the reflection of all the colors in the visible spectrum. The colored wavelength that is reflected is the color we see. Blacks absorbs all the colors. No wavelengths are reflected. So, black is the absence of color as none are reflected and white is a reflection of all the colors.

This fight will never be won between a scientist and an artist. I can see all the arguing now.

There really shouldn't be any arguing at all. For once, everyone is right. (thumbs u Depending on the color model (additive or subtractive) you are using, both statements are correct. It'd be like arguing that water is only a solid, or only a liquid or only a gas.
