does a diagonal line through a UPC bar code mean anything

someone is selling an Amazing Spider-Man #200 and on the pic it shows the UPC code with a diagonal stripe through it.....does that mean anything.

so instead of a picture they just put the UPC with a slash.....thought it was maybe like a comic thrown out from a store and they marked on it so as it could not be sold again. Thank you.
