CBT
No worries. I use the same name everywhere so it's certainly no secret. (thumbs u I still think the bump is because of eBay bucks. It definitely could be helping, but I watched it happen in a way. I got my first CGC submission back in December, which included 2 Saga 9.8s. I had been holding off on selling my extra copy, but checking the prices every day. Overnight after USA Today's article listed it as the top series of 2012 the price spiked. There also arent a whole lot of them on ebay. If you check out the auctions that have sold since then also, there are a lot of sub 10 feedback users in the bidding mix. I think a lot of newer collectors are choosing Saga as something to go after, and the USA Today article is driving them. I think 150 is setting up a nice floor and it will probably hang around there for a while. Sellers seem generally happy with that, and buyers probably can't push it much higher without some sort of tv/movie hoopla.

CBT
Its not just USA today. Almost all reviews pronounce Saga as book of the year For sure, I am just saying date wise, it jumped from 80-90 to 120ish the very next day after the article (for completed sales). Anyone interested in the article in question, I know it's been posted before, but here is the link: http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/2012/12/24/best-comic-books-of-2012/1789531/

The BINs are all selling based off what the auctions can pull it seems. These are all within the post Christmas and EBay bucks window. Most sellers allow 7 days to pay. Why would the article affect the secondary market? It is much more likely to affect the primary market getting people to read the story, not collect slabs. Auctions creating new BIN's always happens. You likely see an increase in the number BIN's as a direct result of the auctions.
ThoseBackPages
as far as the BINs late last month go. there was another ebay bucks promo that was gong on (i want to say december 28th?) that allowed for 5% total bonus in bucks. that might have been helpful as well
N/A
And the bump was experienced across many titles. Are we going to credit the article for those too? My 2nd chance offer was in Australia. Big USA Today readers?
CBT
I agree with all of the points both of you make, but given the seller is the same (so listing isnt really a factor). I do think a 50%+ jump 48 hours later, which happens to be on the day of the News Article.... I do think it has to be considered a likely factor. Edit: ------- the book's rising price is driving it now, so the trigger and the current sales dont have to be linked. It went 120, 130, 140, 150, almost consecutively. But ultimately, I'm not saying ebay bucks isnt helping, but the 28th marked a big spike and its rising since. Also, a lot of the people bidding on the higher prices have low feedback, and I doubt people with sub 10 feedback are big on ebay bucks.
