Sending in Moderns for Grading not getting the grade you think or hoped.

I give up. I've sent about 8 books in thinking they would grade at least a 9.6 or 9.8. Only to have some come back a 9.4. Its too risky. I think I'd rather pay the premium & just buy them already graded 9.8.

 

Just goes to show, that, like anything, it's a lot harder than it looks . . . :grin:

I believe that if you can get a 9.8 modern slabbed book for $25 which happens plenty of times on auctions then it is the safest bet.

 

At this point the only time I would send moderns in is if it a variant LE or something that was in short supply or high demand.
