First published Jae Lee original art for sale

"Not many people know this but I am the first publisher of Jae Lee's comic art.

He drew the second issue of the Metallica series I was packaging at the time.

This predates his work in "Marvel Comics Presents" by a month although both

issues printed the same month. This is a fascinating look at the young artist

about to burst onto the comics scene at the age of 18. The influences of John

Byrne and John Romita Jr. are apparent on every page. A true collectors item.

 

The story involves a woman turned into living metal by the Greek Gods and is a

rare example of Jae doing "good girl" art a' la Milo Manara. 20 years ago the

visuals were considered "adult". Today it would almost be considered mainstream.

 

I have all 21 pages that Jae Lee penciled for issue #2 of "Metallica" and am

looking to sell them."
