W. R. COLLECTIBLES AUCTIONS 6/7-11

Hello there! Hope the Big Apple Con went well for those of you who attended. We've certainly got a lot of goodies this week as part of our "Amazing Spactacular June Sale" and there is plenty more on the way! Here's an overview of what's on the block this week:

MONDAY

The complete Todd McFarlane run of Amazing Spider-Man from 298-328 31 books from FN to NM+ with most VF. Each book is listed in its own auction. All books are raw. The first three of the set were selected from the recently acquired Tim Lease collection.

TUESDAY

Fantastic Four 351-364 11 issues from GD/VG to VF/NM. Good cheap readers or fill-ins for your FF collection.

Uncanny X-Men 151-189 12 issues from FN+ to NM+. Some really nice books here with most being VF or NM- good collector grades. Some of the nicer issues include #170 Storm/Callisto duel (NM-), #179 Kitty/Caliban wedding (NM-), #180 1st Cypher in X-Men (NM+), #188 Rachel Collosus Nightcrawler cover (NM), and #189 Rachel Magma Selene cover (NM).

Amazing Spider-Man #10 CGC 7.0 1st App Enforcers - Interior pages are off-white. This book features the first appearance of Big Man and The Enforcers. A great silver age addition to any Spider-Man collection with art from Steve Ditko and storyline from Stan Lee. 2004 Overstreet Price Guide estimated value at $525.

Amazing Spider-Man #30 CGC 7.0 Steve Ditko c/a - Interior pages are off-white to white. A great silver age addition to any Spider-Man collection with art and cover from Steve Ditko and storyline from Stan Lee. 2004 Overstreet Price Guide estimated value at $108.

Amazing Spider-Man #56 CGC 9.0 Doctor Octopus Cover - Interior pages are white. This issue features the 1st appearance of Captain Stacy and a fantastic Doctor Octopus cover. Stan Lee story with John Romita Sr. cover.

WEDNESDAY

Amazing Spider-Man #231-259 15 issues from VG to VF/NM average grade of FN+. Nice mid grade reader copies with a few nice collector grade issues including #236 Tarantula Dies (VF), #244 3rd app Hobgoblin (VF/NM), #250 Spidey/Hobgoblin battle (VF-), #254 Jack O'Lantern app (VF+), and #258 Hobgoblin app (VF/NM).

X-Men #49 CGC 8.5 1st App Polaris - Interior pages are off-white. This issue features the 1st appearance of Polaris and a Jim Steranko cover.

X-Men #53 CGC 9.6 1st BWS Comic Artwork & Origin of Beast - Interior pages are cream to off-white. At 9.6, it is a top census copy and currently only 8 other issues share this grade. This issue features the 1st comic art drawn by Barry Windsor-Smith who later went on to draw the adaptation of Conan the Barbarian for Marvel. This issue also details the origin of Beast.

X-Men #94 CGC 9.0 New X-Men Begin - Interior pages are off-white to white. Len Wein and Chris Claremont write the story with interior artwork from Dave Cockrum and Bob McLeod. Gil Kane and Cockrum provide the cover art.

Uncanny X-Men #118 CGC 9.4 1st App Mariko Yashida- Interior pages are off-white to white. This comic features the first appearance of Mariko Yashida, the woman who almost becomes Wolverine's bride, but eventually is transformed into Lady Deathstrike. Sunfire, who is oddly enough Mariko's brother also makes an appearance in this issue. Chris Claremont pens the story with interior art from John Byrne and Ric Villamonte. The high intensity action cover is from Dave Cockrum and Terry Austin.
