7.5-8.0? Has top staple/corner issues.

Green Lantern 4 is coming back as a CGC 8.5 with OW/W pages. When I first posted the book in this thread most graders had it as a 7.0. Anyway, happy with the grade. One of the better Silver Age covers and from what I've been told it's a tough issue to find in grade. Bought it an LCS in North Hollywood many years ago.

Was that Passport Bookshop in North Hollywood? I used to go there all the time as a kid, its where I discovered the love of comics and started collecting. It was the in-place for comic collectors in the late-70's-early 80's in So Cal.

Yes, I too hung out with Earl and the gang at Passport in North Hollywood. Bought some nice Silver Age books from him including that Green Lantern 4 I just posted. Sadly I heard Earl passed away some years ago. Is this Dee, his wife, posting. If so, I hope you're doing well. Maybe we can get together some time?

Nah, just another so cal kid who loved comics and was tutored by Earl in comic appreciation and grading. My ID here (and on EBay, many comics coming soon!) is in honor of Earl and Passport. Sad to hear he passed, though last I visited the shop he was in his late 60's somewhere.

Woldn't be surprised if he died of lung cancer. He and Dee were both chain smokers as I recall.

I was going to say 8.0-8.5. It's a good looking book but I was thinking the spine/ top staple/ corner had to much going on to go any higher than that. That's definitely a keeper.
