Hi Everyone,

Well, after 2 fun filled conventions, we're back for a 3rd go-around! On Sunday, November 18th, 2012 we're moving to a bigger and better facility, the QLN Conference Center located at 1938 Avenida del Oro, Oceanside, CA 92056. After bringing Bob Layton, Whilce Portacio, and J. Scott Campbell to our shows in the past 2 years, along with a lot of great artistic and creative talents, we knew that we had some big shoes to fill.

This year, we are thrilled to announce that our Special Guest of Honor is none other than Image co-founder Marc Silvestri! You can salivate over his gorgeous pencil art at places like http://www.marcsilvestriart.com

But the fun doesn't stop there! We can also confirm the return of several of our fan-favorite artists, including:

  • Tone Rodriguez
  • Chris Moreno
  • Tony Fleecs
  • Mark Dos Santos
  • Richard Friend
  • Joel Gomez
  • Joe Weems

Check this thread for more updates, or go to the So Cal Comic Con website or Like us on Facebook for contests, automatic updates, and more. We have big plans for this year.

(NOTE: We are not taking ANY requests at this time for any of our guests in terms of signature or sketch requests. More information will be posted as the show approaches, but rest assured, a CGC CAW will be onsite at the show.)

For those who would like to set up, just go to either site or send a PM to either Joel Elad or Spdreycer.

Hope to see you guys there.

Rey Reyes & Joel Elad

I am very proud of Joel and Rey for once again getting a major blue chip artist to sign on to do the show. :applause:

Their hard work and dedication for being fans first has really helped them connect with the socal comic book fan-base which results in a fun show with yet another A-list guest for a one day show.

Going to be a great show.

Anyone within a 3-hour drive should really make the trip for sure.

Can't wait to attend.

What a coup, that's another big name following-up JSC from last year and Whilce from the first Con.

There'll be air conditioning this time at the new location, right? ;)

Oh Yes! lol

There will be AC and Heating if needed. (thumbs u

This should be a great show, since I've been to the show before, and liked the vibe of the convention. I found a few back issues of comics I was looking for, so my treasure hunt was fruitful at this show.

The added touches I like about the So Cal Comic Con is having all-star calibre guests like J. Scott Campbell last year and this year with Marc Silverstri, coupled with a nice mixture of vendors, and the raffle which has great prizes to offer attendees.

Oceanside is a beautiful location too, just a short drive from San Diego and a nice drive from the Los Angeles area, even worth flying into town for the weekend, figuring the convention is on a Saturday, so out of towners could enjoy Sunday in sunny California as well for a nice weekend trip.

Yah the AC will help.

I remember I went to the show last year and stopped by the casino. Two birds with one stone.

It was right after SDCC too so some of the dealers were selling SDCC exclusives that I missed.

I'm so looking forward to this show. My last show of the year, and I wanna end it with some good sketches. Like what I told you guys earlier, this is the best line-up I've seen for a show of this size and prize. Steigerwald told me he'll be there at the Aspen booth. But do you guys know if any of the artists will be reppin' IDW at Top Cow that day?

We've got a few more artists to announce this week, actually!

I don't think there will be any artists at the IDW booth, but we'll know for sure by the end of this week. As for Top Cow, currently Marc is the only artist scheduled for the Top Cow booth, but there are other Top Cow/Aspen artists that will have their own tables.

We will be creating a thread in the Sig Series Event Announcement room soon, with an exciting offer for those fans (attending or not attending) who want sketch covers done at the show!

Joel
