This is Thief of Thieves 1 Image Expo Convention Edition ("ICE") Variant in CGC 9.8 condition. It is a Signature Series ("SS") book signed by Robert Kirkman and Nick Spencer, witnessed and certified by CGC. *

This Variant was Limited to either 1000 copies (or 500 copies according to PGX who was also at the convention and certifying autographed books) and only a small portion have been certified by CGC's Signature Series program after having been signed.

The Book itself is Rare because of the print run, more rare because many copies were signed but not CGC SS certified and the book is hard to capture in CGC 9.8 condition accoring to many in attendance at the convetion.

As you are all aware, AMC has purchased the rights to a Theif of Thieves television series and the book has been storyboarded in a manner which is consistent with television screenplays. Because collectors believe in AMC's work on the Walking Dead, this series has taken off. Unlike the Comicspro variant (with a print run between 200 and 500 issues accoring to various reports) which was published on high quality paper that does not easily bend, nick or suffer from spine ticks. The ICE variant is hard to secure in a high grade without minor defects. In the event that the TV series gets made, many believe that this is the book to have because it is the most difficult to find in CGC 9.8 condition, because a large number of ICE variants were signed but were not certified by CGC and therefore will have green labels and because this cover looks better than the black and white Comicspro variant. Only time will tell, but this book may be a steal at this price in a few months and a shockingly low price for this issue in a matter of a few years.
