I keep waiting for that image to move.. hm

I'd say 1980 gave 1982 a run for its money...

Empire Strikes Back

Airplane

Blues Brothers

The Shining

Caddyshack

Friday the 13th (The original)

The Fog

Raging Bull

Hollywood Knights (cult for me)

Mad Max

Fame

9 to 5

Coal Miner's Daughter

Ordinary People

Dressed to Kill

Used Cars (If you haven't seen it, shame on you)

As a young movie going kid in the 80's

1981 was by far the better year. Sure some of the movies listed in 1980 or 1982 are great movies, in fact many of them are, but as a 10-12 year old you probably didn't see all of them in the theater

1981:

Raider's of the Lost Ark (I could probably stop this list right here)

Released the same day? Clash of the Titans

Cannonball Run

Superman II

For Your Eyes Only (one of the best Moore Bond films)

The Great Muppet Caper

The Fox and the Hound

Escape from New York

Arthur

Zorro, The Gay Blade (admit it, you loved this as a kid)

Dragonslayer

Stripes

Under the Rainbow (This was the first time I saw boobs onscreen :cloud9:)

Condorman (I loved this movie!)

Other notables you probably didn't see as a kid but were released...

American Werewolf in London

Wolfen

Friday the 13 Part 2 (the first real slasher film)

History of the World, Part 1 (I'm still waiting for part 2... Oh Pee-Boy!)

Cheech and Chong's Nice Dreams

Blow Out

Tarzan, the Ape Man (sure it's not great, but it had 2 solid hours of Bo Derek naked!)

Special nod to a film that was released in November of that year...

TIME BANDITS

'Nuff said

1994 was pretty good with these highlights and then a bunch of other good ones, lots of kids movies and comedies it looked like going through the list.

Forrest Gump

The Lion King

Pulp Fiction

The Shawshank Redemption

Pardon my ignorance - is this a scene from Fast Times at Ridgemont High?

face-slap.gif

It is, without a doubt, the finest 25 seconds in any motion picture every created or shall ever be created!!

Phoebe Cates turned more boys into men with that scene than Playboy.

100% correct. I still can't believe she's married to Kevin Kline...

Correct.

It is not a scene from Fast Times. It is THE scene from Fast Times.
