i loved those trading cards growing up, they were awesome! I remember I paid $50 for that wolverine hologram card

 

That's the early 90's for ya. So many times I saw the card industry reeking havoc at the comic books stores. People were paying big bucks, like you said, for so many hologram foil cards. :facepalm:

 

Do you have a Denny's in your area? By the mid 90's Denny's was giving out hologram, foil baseball cards. The place was always packed during this time. I knew an employee that worked there. She would come home with a few cards after every shift. She gave them to me to sell. I couldn't believe the money people were paying for these things. All I kept thinking was "Suckers". lol
