Revat just meant that you give background information about the items you are offering. I know it's free, but it doesn't hurt to provide additional information about them.

 

I've read what other people said, but I still don't have any idea what the comics are about.

There is probably a limited number of people that are looking to collect and/or read these. It is not the first time this has happened, and it's not that it is a bad offer.

Why should you sell something that is FREE?

 

For starters, you should care if people are taking your offer or not.

 

People are curious and want to know more and instead of talking comics you respond with why should I bother???? Not every suggestion is an attack. Sometimes they are just that... suggestions.

 

Plus, Golden Age Westerns and War comics are a niche market. It's not unreasonable for people to ask questions.

 

No one can make you talk about your stuff, but this thread is about Paying it Forward. Talking comics and sharing your joy of the hobby. Telling others why they might enjoy your rare niche GA comics makes sense to me. 2c

 

The last time I posted an offer I had a full run of a series called Dynamo 5 up. Knowing, it was a niche market series itself, I wrote a full description about the series telling people why they might enjoy it. So I'm not suggesting anything I haven't been willing to do myself.

While the idea is for people to participate, I hope this guy is one and done because he seems like a real jerk.

 

It is not unreasonable to provide general condition of the item or even just an issue number with what you are posting.

This is supposed to be such a happy place...

 

I agree that these are really awesome books. Even thought about buying the Red Ryder book from topcat awhile back, but it's just not really something I'm wanting right now.

 

I do also agree, though, that providing a little extra information about something is not a bad idea. This is supposed to be a fun thread where people share their love of stuff. Sometimes posting just a picture isn't enough to make people understand why they would like it, even if it's something you like.

What's interesting about 2 niche books in the middle of a series? The only value I see is resale or missing books for someone that collects them, which, unfortunately, makes them have relatively low appeal. I hope you don't take this as insult. Personally, I see no reason for me to own these books, and I think a lot of people feel the same way.

Books from a series of this kind do not necessarily represent a continuative reading. I am not familiar with them, but I am pretty sure the war stories are self-enclosed.

The Dell "western" is a series, but one may always like to pick it out of curiosity to see how the series is, but a bit of description would help.
