i hope you aren't disappointed. Bryne's commissions haven't been very good in a long long time. :(

Thanks for the concert. I have seen examples of his current commissions and they are good enough for me. Byrne's style still remains very distinctive and fits my eye.

Still waiting for more word from his rep though.

Seems my commissioning style is headed the way of my collecting style. Staying with the same narrow focus, and going back to the same trusted artists I know will pull through.

So, for now I am waiting on:

Mike DeCarlo - Preacher meets Futurama

Mike DeCarlo - Preacher meets Garfield

Mike DeCarlo - Preacher meets Peanuts :o

Douglas Paszkiewicz - a classic cover re-imagined with his characters

Douglas Paszkiewicz - a classic painting re-imagined with his characters (hoping to talk him into making this one into a print after I find a good colorist)

And why do I keep going back to the same guys?

Tommy Pons - 3 years and counting

Wish I had THIS SET UP THREE YEARS AGO plug>

I commissioned Steve Yeowell to do a Zenith piece for me recently. He's been great to deal with - very responsive and offered payment on completion without me even having to ask.

I didn't give much direction at all - just that I wanted Zenith in his Phase III outfit, and that I'd like some sort of "peril" involved. He picked my favourite villain from the series, Mr Why (awesome), and also included Lux in the piece (double awesome).

Here are the pencils:

and here is the inked version:

The finished piece arrived at my work today and is waiting to be taken home and unpacked (so technically I guess it still counts as one I'm waiting for...).

Very happy with it - I may well be going back to him in future!

Hope you like it.

Waiting on a commission from Peter Bagge. I have mine done in a book I own, so I just wait until they confirm they're ready and then send em the book. It's just about finished and has been 2 weeks from when he received the book.

All my comms are Dr Who based in some way.

I know his art isn't everyone's cup of tea but he sent me the 'nearly finished' scan and, boy, it certainly made me laugh....

I am just starting to move into the commission collecting space. Like many I'm collecting on a budget so I don't think I would be able to get many commissions from big names for a while.

The current one I have going is going to be from Chrissie Zullo. The Baltimore Comic-Con is the one convention I go to and noticed that Chrissie would be there. I e-mailed her a few weeks ago to see what her pricing was and if she could do the commission at home and bring it to Baltimore. We decided on a Black Cat scene of her stealing a yeti figure (Chrissie has a thing for yetis). She didn't ask for any payment up front so we will see how it works.

I'm thinking about setting up another commission for Baltimore but I might not and look at buying some OA instead. Decisions Decisions.

Chrissie is phenomenal and I've paid her for both my commissions upon completion.

Waiting on three years for Tom Nguyen. Half up front. I'm not too worried as I know where he lives.

Saw Tom doing a Power Man and Iron Fist commission for someone at the most recent SDCC. Seemed like a nice guy. Good luck to ya.

I've been thinking about asking to see if I can get a commission done by Chrissie. Love her work.

Always liked the villainess, Enchantress from Marvel Comics.

Approached Ale Garza at the 2012 SDCC on Friday, July 13, 2012 (Fri. the 13th my first mistake? hm to get an Enchantress done. Asked if I should pay up front and got the response, "only if you want it done before the end of the Con." So, I paid. He asked if I was going to be there for the whole weekend, and I said that I would be. He said, "it should be done tomorrow."

I checked back on the 15th but no Enchantress. :( I checked back multiple times on the 16th and burned my last 2-3 hours of the Con in Artist Alley. Ale showed in those last 2-3 hours but was in no condition to do any commissions---as he had been out late Saturday night early Sunday morning.

He offered to mail my commission and another guy's---who had also stopped by the table. He said that he would get them done and mail them out on Monday, July 16th, 2012.

Hoping for the best!

Tom did a winter soldier and black widow for me at sdcc. I'll post it sometime today hopefully. Stellar guy.

I dropped a sketch blank on Eric Jones (danger club) at the show to do after the show. First time I've tried that. Interested to see if it works out and how long I wait. Just realized I gave him all of my contact info but got none from him. doh!

Let's see....commissions....

Nick Runge

Han Solo & ESB Bounty Hunters Trophy Wall.....just arrived, as promised and FAR beyond expectations. I am posting it tonight on my CAF. That was set up with Mike DeLeRee of NotSoNiceArt. Nick and Mike are real professionals and kept every promise and made me smile with a piece that might be the best I've ever gotten.

Chris Uminga

Stephen King's "IT" all clown, all day, Trophy Wall. Promised to be completed this week and picked up by a friend at SDCC. I haven't see a scan yet but based on Chris' other work it should be pretty sick.

Sam Keith

Yes, THAT Sam Keith. It should be done any time now. I am pretty excited. Details under wraps until I see it myself. Set up 60 days ago. Promised to be done right around now.

Craig Hamilton

Maximus from the Inhumans painted Trophy Wall. due several years ago. I've lost count of the time really. Maybe someday.

Nick Runge's piece posted

Han Solo's Trophy Wall

OK - your gallery is jaw dropping - Romita SR & JR :cloud9: Dave Stevens :luhv: and that is just scanning the front page! Unreal! I need to wipe the drool before the wife thinks I'm looking at porn!

Cool, thanks for the heads up! :)

He responded Tuesday via Facebook and said it had been done, but he had been busy and hadn't had a chance to mail it out. He said he would mail it out on Wednesday. He's local here in San Diego. Heck, I should offer to pick it up. I think I might do that. I'll let you guys know the end result.

Yeah, I got a bent piece from Cully Hamner recently as well. it can be so frustrating! I also got a piece, direct from an artist, rolled up and put in my mailbox recently, no "do not bend" or anything written on it to convey its' fragility. But surprise surprise, it flattened out within a day.

It looks really nice though. Maybe her magic spell will flatten it out in time.

Did you ask for anything by chance? Another piece, discount on a future commission? Heck, we're the buyers. We should have some compensation.

I'd disagree whoe-heartedly. While his published work is hit or miss for me, his commissions always appear to go above expectation for those who've posted about them online. I have a MTU homage of my on of my favorite covers and he knocked it out of the park. I bought it 4 years ago and it remains one of the coolest commissions I've ever received. Not only in skill, but in detail.
