1 post in this topic

Please be advised that the Doug Schmell/Pedigree Comics.com Collection of Pedigree’s CEO and President, Doug Schmell, which includes award winning, #1 CGC Registry sets of Silver Age Marvel titles, goes live next week at the Heritage Vintage Comics & Comic Art Signature Auction . This multi-million dollar, super high grade collection of 682 CGC certified Marvels will be available to bid on via Live Floor Bidding, Live Telephone Bidding and through HERITAGE Live! Bidding beginning at 10:00 a.m. PST on Thursday, July 26, in Beverly Hills, California. The initial 483 books of the collection go live on the 26th and the remaining 199 books will be sold through HERITAGE Live!, Internet, Fax and Mail bidding only beginning at 10:00 a.m. PST on Saturday, July 28th.

Internet bidding on the collection began on Tuesday, July 3rd with total bidding as of this writing exceeding $2,000,000!

This is undoubtedly the greatest Silver Age Marvel collection ever offered for sale and includes full runs of almost every major 1960’s Marvel superhero title (9 runs in total). Over 78% of the books in the collection are CGC graded 9.8 and higher with only 17 comics graded less than 9.6 (all in 9.4 except for a couple in 9.2). Almost every book offered is the single highest graded or tied as the highest graded copy according to the CGC census and has either white or off-white to white page quality (with none less than off-white). Every book is being auctioned without a reserve.

In addition, almost every book comes from one recognized pedigree collection or another. The most prevalent one is the Pacific Coast Collection followed by the Rocky Mountain Collection, but there are many other pedigrees included such as Boston, Curator, Massachusetts, Northland, Twin Cities, Western Penn and White Mountain.

The following #1 CGC Registry sets will be offered:

Avengers #1-#100 (89 issues in 9.8 with 11 in 9.6 including #17-#100 in 9.8);

Daredevil #1-#100 (90 in 9.8 and 10 in 9.6);

Fantastic Four #1-#102 (70 in 9.8 and 24 in 9.6);

Journey Into Mystery #83-#125 (17 in 9.8 and 24 in 9.6);

Strange Tales #101-#168 (43 in 9.8 and 21 in 9.6);
