PGM Planet Comics 71

14 posts in this topic

This comic is the reason I'm here.

Found it at SDCC and purchased it on a whim.

Okay here we go:

-Half inch spine tears at top and bottom

-2 pieces of tape at the staple

The bottom staple is holding the back cover, but the front cover is coming loose.

If you need more description, I'll attempt it.

First time scanning a book.

Edited for back cover.

If you are in it, you should turn off "auto mode" on the scanner. There most likely is a professional mode that lets you set the scanning area manually.

In professional mode, you usually scan a preview. Then set the dimensions/area for the final scan.

(unless of course the scanner is smaller than this book ;-)

From what I read the cover's by Maurice Whitman.

Thanks for the scanner help gents.

Now just need to get her slabbed.

Why slab this comic? Keep it in a Mylar where it'll look great. Leave the slab costs for high $ books.

Just my 2c

Because I don't plan on getting rid of it. It's my first golden age purchase which I plan to keep for a long time. I think being slabbed will keep it protected better than mylar.

Nyet! Mylar with an acid free backing board is better.
