New megaexhibition of OA in Spain, this time focused on Russ Heath.

Nos remiten información sobre la próxima gran exposición en torno al cómic que se celebrará en el Casal Solleric Ses Voltes bajo el patrocinio del Ayuntamiento de Palma.

 

Se prevé que la muestra se inaugure en enero de 2012, y girará en torno al dibujante norteamericano Russ Heath, con más de 200 originales que incluirán portadas de los años cincuenta, varias historietas completas de Sgt Rock, Haunted Tank y de su etapa en Warren, además de ilustraciones de sus inicios, páginas de Sea Devils, National Lampoon y muchas otras.

 

En noviembre se conocerán más detalle sobre la exposición, pero como es habitual en las grandes muestras anuales de cómic en Palma, se publicará un imponente catálogo de más de 300 páginas titulado Carne y acero, el arte de Russ Heath que ya puede reservarse llamando al 971 722 092 o escribiendo a Francisca Olmo (folmo@palma.es).

 

This means that by early 2013 there will be a megaexhibition in Palma de Mallorca (Spain) focused on Russ Heath, which will display about 200 pieces including covers of the 50s; complete stories of Sgt Rock, Haunted Tank and his Warren age; drawings done early in his career; pages from Sea Devils, National Lampoon; y many others...

 

More info will be released by November. As usual (like in the Buscema and Wood exhibitions) will be published an impressive 300-page catalog named "Flesh and Steel, the Art of Russ Heath".

 

You can ask for info about the catalog by writing to Francisca Olmos (folmo@palma.es), but in former exhibitions they only sold catalogs inside Spain. But asking doesn't hurt...

 

Anyway, IDW reprinted not long ago the Buscema catalog with some changes, so probably they will publish the Heath catalog, too.

 

This looks the perfect opportunity to release an Artist's Edition focused on Russ Heath...
