Comic issues representing superhero films?

1 post in this topic

I have recently noticed comic books that have been signed by a star or stars of recent superhero films. I am sure they have been around for years, I just haven't noticed them.

This got me thinking: besides straight-out adaptations themselves, what would you say is the one comic book that best represents each film Marvel or Warners has put out over the years? That one story or cover which sums up the movie like no other? For example, for Raimi's Spider-Man I, you might say Peter Parker: Spider-Man #29, which I can see as being very neat to have signed by Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst.

For my personal taste, I would not like to have an old copy of Journey Into Mystery signed by Anthony Hopkins, so in those cases perhaps you could list both the vintage comic and a more modern one.

List as many films as you want and if you could state your reasoning, that would be helpful. Thanks!
