At a glance the AS#2 looks a bit under graded?

 

Only major defect I can see is the back cover has a transfer stain from a Cap #3 during the printing process which probably brought the book down in grade. Although book does looks fantastic in hand.

All Select 2 was printed in 1943, Cap 3 was printed in 1941. So the back cover ink transfer cannot be a Cap 3. You are mistaken. (shrug) it must be much much later.

It is definitely Cap #34. You can see Caps red leg on the bottom edge and the black feet of the guy Cap is choking. Cover date is 1/44.

Love the Cap 33 cover. Shows U.S. forces arriving at the Brenner Pass about a year and a half earlier than they actually did. Reflecting an overly optimistic view of the Italian campaign, I would guess.

Now I just have to figure out how to obtain a Cap #33 for a down-to-earth price… :sorry:
