Preliminary Artwork - Rough Drafts

Here's an Ed Benes prelim from Thundercats: The Return. I upped the contrast on it to make the pencil lines easier to see in the scan. It looks very similar to the final, published version. I saw the fully inked page of this on eBay not too long ago, but the price was a bit too high.

I only have very few prelims, I typically only get them because its a prelim to something I have, it came with something I have, or teh real thing is so prohibitively expensive that a prelim will have to do, so mine are:

 

1. Alan Davis Prelim to Justice League Another Nail #2 cover - CAF Link

Being someone who likes to see the artistic process, I like prelims a lot. In fact, I have a whole gallery of them on my CAF. I've got art by Mark Mayhew, Chris Bachalo, Steve McNiven, Adam Hughes, Mark Brooks, Bryan Hitch ...
